How to Increase your Market Value when you’re a Dedicated Top Performer

I’m going to show you a technique on how you can increase your Market Value, whether that’s negotiating your salary, creating a business case to get you promoted, or any similar situation.

But before I tell you how it works, let me tell you what this technique has done for me so far.

In my first few jobs, I have struggled to get myself promoted, and I actually didn’t know what I was doing wrong. I shared a detailed story about that here.

But ever since I used this technique, I can wholeheartedly say that this is the nitrous oxide (is it obvious that I’m a car enthusiast?) that gave me that boost to propel my career growth and get me to where I am today as a leader in the continuous process improvement field.

It’s a technique that’s been taught to me by one of my first mentors – Ramit Sethi of IWillTeachYouToBeRich.com, and Author of the best-selling book I Will Teach You To Be Rich.

For today’s #thankfulthursdays I would like to give my gratitude to Ramit, as I was lucky enough to be one of the first to know about this technique after reading his book about 10 years ago, as he has only released this so-called “briefcase technique” into the public just fairly recently.

What Ramit did here was show the most efficient and effective way to go through an interview process. And it works like a charm.

Reading his book also marked the start of my shift towards reading Business, Career, Entrepreneurship, and Self-help related books instead of novels, as I truly found value in reading such content.

So thank you, Ramit, for teaching me how to have a rich mindset.

Without further ado, here is the briefcase technique. And may your career be changed forever.

Also after watching the video, perhaps you’ll notice how this article has been written using the briefcase technique as well.

But if you’re from my team, reading this, don’t use this on me. I’ll know what you’re up to! LOL!

What did you learn that apples to you? What will you implement moving forward?
